The penannular shape of this bangle is inspired by the shapes of the ornaments and jewellery of Neolithic Ireland and is coupled with reimagined carvings resembling the arcs, spirals, serpentiform and curvilinear shapes that can be found at these ancient burial sites around Ireland. Specifically that of the entrance stone at Newgrange. It's clear that some stones mark the areas where specific rituals took place. Most notably the highly decorated stones at tomb entrances.
